  • Taking command

    With another win notched in their belt, the Marion County Lady Knights opened their second double-header of the week on Feb. 8. For the second time this season, the Lady Knights defeated their opponent, the Washington County Commanderettes, 54-28.

    Later that night, Marion County’s boys team picked up its fifth consecutive win by defeating the Commanders (2-16) by 37 points.

    Saturday’s win marks the eighth consecutive season that the Lady Knights have swept their neighboring rival.

  • Marion County splits double-header with Taylor County

    The Marion County Lady Knights were in action against the Taylor County Lady Cardinals Friday night in the Roby Dome.

    It was a low-scoring affair from the opening tip. The first score came nearly two minutes into the game on a free throw by Taylor County junior guard Haley Wright.

  • Lady Knights fall to Cards

    A slow crawl upwards on the Marion County Lady Knights record was put to a halt on Jan. 31.
    Despite a fierce fight, the Lady Knights (8-9) fell to the Nelson County Lady Cardinals, 73-62.
    Lady Knights Coach Anthony Epps said that he liked the effort of his players during the game.

  • Aquaknights notch another victory

    Like a knife  through butter, the Marion County Aquaknights cut through the water to take another win last week.
    On Jan. 28, the Aquaknights hosted and defeated Nelson County High School, Thomas Nelson High School, and Bethlehem High School.
    “Tonight was great,” Aquaknights Coach Holly Buckman said. “The swimmers did really good. It’s always nice when Bethlehem and Nelson and Marion County get together because we always practice together.”

  • Tonight's high school basketball games have been canceled

    The Marion County High School basketball games at Adair County scheduled for Feb. 3 have been canceled due to the road conditions, according to Marion County Athletics Director Robby Peterson.

  • Lady Knights topple Taylor County

     Deep in enemy territory, facing an opponent with a stronger record, and surrounded by hundreds of fans rooting against you - it’s hard to imagine coming out with your skin intact.

    But the Marion County Lady Knights did just that, and they came out on top.
