  • Offensive struggles continue for Knights

    The Marion County High School Knights football team hosted Boyle County on senior night Friday, which was the final home game of the season. The Knights struggled all night against the high powered Boyle County team and were unable to get on the scoreboard for the second straight game. The back-to-back shutouts of Marion County marks the first time in program history the team has been blanked in two straight home games in consecutive weeks. The Knights fell by a final score of 63-0.

  • Knights soccer wins district, prepares for regionals

    Last week was a difficult week for Marion County boys soccer coach Greg Conley.
    Conley received two yellow cards in the game against North Hardin and was not allowed to coach in the team's next threegames, including the team's last regular season game.
    Now that his three-game absence is over, the Knights are preparing to make a run in the regional tournament at Nelson County High School. The team began play in the tournament last night against Central Hardin.

  • Lady Knights make soccer history

    The Marion County Lady Knights soccer team made history last week by capturing their first district title in program history. Victories over Taylor County in the opening round and LaRue County in the finals sent the Lady Knights to the regional tournament as 18th district champions.  
    "After a big win against them (Taylor County) just two weeks prior, I was afraid that we would come out slow and overlook them this time, but thankfully I was wrong," Head Coach Devin Johnson said.

  • Lady Knights win fifth consecutive volleyball district title

    The Marion County Lady Knights volleyball team claimed their fifth consecutive 20th District title Tuesday of last week, as they defeated the Taylor County Lady Cardinals to take their overall record to 30-6.

  • Cross country team going strong

    The Marion County High School cross country team competed in a pair of competitions recently, and posted some quality individual times.  On Sept. 27, the team took part in the Weekday Classic in LaRue County. Head Coach Daniel Johnson noted that when the girls' race was finished, it was discovered that the lead vehicle took a wrong turn. The misdirection ended up making the race 3.42 miles instead of the usual 5k, which is 3.1 miles.

  • Knights shut out by Mercer County in homecoming game

    The Marion County Knights football team hosted the Mercer County Titans at John J. Boswell Field Friday. The Knights were unable to score in the game, losing the game by a final score of 55-0. The loss drops the Knights record to 2-5 on the season, with three games remaining.
    "We were outplayed in every facet of the game," Head Coach Jeff Robbins said. "We blew blocking and defensive assignments all night."

  • Soccer Knights drop final three games

    During the week of fall break, the Marion County Knights soccer team played in three games, two at home and one on the road. The team came up short in each of the three contests to finish the regular season with an overall record of 11-9-0.
    The Knights traveled to take on Bethlehem Tuesday of last week, and were defeated by a final score of 4-0. The game was very intense, according to Head Coach Greg Conley. Bethlehem was hosting their senior night activities at the game.

  • Lady Knights ready for the soccer postseason

    The Marion County Lady Knights soccer team was supposed to compete in two games last week during fall break. However, due to rain, the game on Monday of last week against Bardstown was cancelled and there will be no makeup game.  
    On Tuesday of last week, the Lady Knights went on the road to play Bethlehem.  Besides a breakaway goal by Lindsey Browning in the game, Marion County was dominated in every aspect of the game, with the final score being 11-1.

  • Volleyball team closes season with a pair of wins

    The Marion County Lady Knights volleyball team competed in two matches last week during Fall Break, playing both Pulaski County and Bardstown at the Roby Dome.  The Lady Knights were able to defeat Bardstown in three sets, and win against Pulaski County in four sets on Senior Night.  Marion County's overall record going into the district tournament was 28-6.

  • Football Knights take second win

    The Marion County High School football team hit the road Friday evening to take on Taylor County. After having their bye week the previous Friday night, the Knights were looking to ride the momentum of their first win of the season over rival Washington County two weeks ago. The Cardinals started the season 4-0, but came into the game after being routed by Boyle County 53-0 the previous week.
