The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team went on the road to take on John Hardin Tuesday of last week. Despite a 29-point third quarter with six three pointers, the Knights couldn't get any closer than cutting John Hardin's lead to one point. Marion County had several chances to take the lead at the end, but fell short to the Bulldogs, losing 71-66. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with 23 points, tying a career high for three pointers with five in the game.

The Marion County Lady Knights varsity basketball team hosted Mercy Academy on Tuesday of last week at the Roby Dome. After defeating the Lady Jaguars in late January in the semi-finals of the LIT, the Lady Knights repeated that performance. Just as it was on the Jan. 28 match-up, a close game ensued and Marion County was able to pull out the victory in the end.

The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team headed to Bardstown to take on the Tigers on Tuesday of last week. After a stellar first half where the Knights led by one point heading into the break, the defensive pressure by the Tigers stepped up and the baskets would not fall for the Knights in the second half.  Marion County would go on to lose this contest by a final score of 70-50, after hanging tough for much of three quarters. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with 23 points, 15 of those in the first half.

The Marion County Lady Knights traveled to John Hardin High School Saturday afternoon to take on the Boone County Lady Rebels in the Valentine’s Day Shootout. After a close game early on in which Boone County led at the end of two quarters, the Lady Knights closed the game on a 10-0 run to seal the 65-50 victory. Junior Makayla Epps led the way for Marion County with 21 points.
