  • Southall selected to All-Region team

    Recently, senior John Southall was selected by the coaches of the 5th region to this year's regular season all-region team. Southall has led the Knights all year, and wrapped up the regular season averaging 16.3 points per game, 4.2 assists per game, and 2.6 steals per game. Southall also converted 77 of 189 three-point shots for 41 percent. As of the end of the regular season, Southall had 934 career points (13th all-time), just 66 away from 1,000 in his career, fourth all-time in assists with 316, and third all-time in three pointers made at 148.

  • Brown signs with Lindsay Wilson

    Amy Brown signed to play golf at Lindsey Wilson College after her graduation.   • Aquaknights compete in regional swim meet

    The Marion County Aquaknights competed in the region three swimming and diving competition held in Versailles On Feb. 10-11. Several different members of the team improved their preliminary times in the finals.
    "Everyone did great," Coach Holly Buckman said. "Best times of the year."

  • Knights fall short to John Hardin

    The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team went on the road to take on John Hardin Tuesday of last week. Despite a 29-point third quarter with six three pointers, the Knights couldn't get any closer than cutting John Hardin's lead to one point. Marion County had several chances to take the lead at the end, but fell short to the Bulldogs, losing 71-66. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with 23 points, tying a career high for three pointers with five in the game.

  • Knights lose last regular season game

    The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team traveled to Hodgenville to take on the LaRue County Hawks Friday night. After controlling the game early on, the Hawks made a comeback to send the Knights to their 11th defeat of the season. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with a game high 25 points.

  • Have no Mercy

    The Marion County Lady Knights varsity basketball team hosted Mercy Academy on Tuesday of last week at the Roby Dome. After defeating the Lady Jaguars in late January in the semi-finals of the LIT, the Lady Knights repeated that performance. Just as it was on the Jan. 28 match-up, a close game ensued and Marion County was able to pull out the victory in the end.

  • Marion County takes second in JV tourneys

    The Marion County High School junior varsity girls basketball headed to Taylor County High School Wednesday to play in their 20th district tournament.
    After defeating Campbellsville in the opening game of the tournament, the Lady Knights fell to Adair County in a close game to take the runner-up title. Sophomores Colleen Rakes and Alexus Calhoun led the way for the junior varsity teams in each of the two games. Rakes scored 11 points in the Campbellsville game and Calhoun scored 10 points in the final against Adair County.

  • Knights fall to Bardstown

    The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team headed to Bardstown to take on the Tigers on Tuesday of last week. After a stellar first half where the Knights led by one point heading into the break, the defensive pressure by the Tigers stepped up and the baskets would not fall for the Knights in the second half.  Marion County would go on to lose this contest by a final score of 70-50, after hanging tough for much of three quarters. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with 23 points, 15 of those in the first half.

  • Knights lose in tough battle with Trojans

    The Marion County Knights took on the Trojans from North Hardin on senior night Friday night in the Roby Dome. The Knights battled all night long against the big, fast, and athletic Trojans and stayed within striking distance throughout the game. However, in the end they fell by a final score of 63-50. Senior Carlos Litsey led the way for the Knights with 13 points.
