  • Knights defeat Boyle County

    In their first game of 2012, the Marion County Knights hosted the Boyle County Rebels Tuesday of last week at the Roby Dome. After trailing until nearly halfway through the second quarter, the Knights fought back and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game in route to the 13-point victory.

  • Lady Knights Win Battle of the Best

    The Marion County Lady Knights hosted the DuPont Manual Lady Crimson Saturday during the Autism Awareness Classic - a match-up featuring the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the state.
    The match-up lived up to all the hype. And the Lady Knights defeated the Lady Crimson 63-61.
    "It was a great atmosphere and a game that I'm sure people were excited to watch," Head Coach Trent Milby said. "The game could have ended with either team winning, I'm just glad it was us."

  • Weekend basketball games remain on schedule

    Basketball games scheduled for tonight, Jan. 13, and tomorrow, Jan. 14, will go on as scheduled, Marion County High School Athletics Director Robby Peterson said.

    The Marion County boys are scheduled to host Campbellsville at 7:30 tonight.

    The Autism Awareness Classic will also be played Saturday at the Roby Dome. The Autism Awareness Classic, which includes seven games, will begin at 11 a.m.

    The schedule for the Autism Awareness Classic is as follows:

    11 a.m. Green County vs. Mercer County (girls)

  • Showdown at the Roby Dome

    On Saturday, Marion County High School will host the second annual Autism Awareness Classic. The day will get started with the first of seven games at 11 a.m., and will be capped off by a pair of Marion County Lady Knights and Knights games.

  • Lady Knights pick up 13th win

    The Marion County Lady Knights varsity team traveled to Lexington Saturday to take on the 11th ranked team in the state of Kentucky, Lexington Catholic.  After a hard fought first quarter, the Lady Knights wore down their opponent with swarming defensive pressure and put the game away to push their season record to 13-2. This was the Lady Knights final game before their highly anticipated match up with DuPont Manual in the Roby Dome on Saturday night as part of the Autism Awareness Classic.

  • Knights finish third in Campbellsville Holiday Classic

    In their second tournament over the holiday season, the Knights of Marion County took part in the Citizens Bank/Campbellsville University Holiday Classic. The team would play three games over three days, and pick up wins in two of those games. The Knights picked up a win in their final game, which gave them third place in the tournament.

  • Lady Knights take title in Titan Christmas Clash

    In their second holiday tournament of 2011, the Lady Knights of Marion County worked their way through several tough teams to take home the title in the Mercer County/Harrodsburg Tourism Titan Christmas Clash. In the four games of the tournament, the Lady Knights won by a combined 105 points with no game being closer than 14 points.

    As 2011 is about to come to a close, we reflect back and remember the top 11 sports stories from the year.

    11. Richardson leaves
    April 29th was Glen “G” Richardson’s last official day with Spring View Hospital, which means that he is no longer the athletic trainer for Marion County High School after nearly nine years of service. Richardson accepted a new position with Taylor Regional Hospital.
