  • TENNIS: Knights notch pair of victories

    The Marion County High School tennis teams hit the courts to take on Taylor County on March 23.
    The boys lost their match 8-1 as their only win was by Dylan Bradshaw who won his match 8-3. Marion County could also not secure a win in doubles.
    However, the girls won their match against Taylor by a score of 6-3.

  • BASEBALL: Knights drop pair of close games

    The Marion County High School Knights baseball team hit the field on March 14 against the Bethlehem Tigers and lost 7-6 after rallying to close the gap.
    Andrew Spalding started the game at pitcher but was pulled in the third after giving up four earned runs on six hits. Luke Thomas replaced Spalding and did not give up an earned run.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Knights make varsity history

    The Marion County Lady Knights were in action against the Green County Dragons on March 16 and at the Lexington-Catholic Lady Knights on March 18.
    The Lady Knights defeated the Dragons 4-3. The win was the Lady Knights' first ever win against Green County in varsity history.
    The Lady Knights would score first in the bottom of the first and would score all four of their runs in the first three innings.

  • Tennis teams gaining valuable experience

    The Marion County High School tennis teams were in action at Hart County on March 18. The girls came away with a 5-4 win, however the boys weren’t as successful. But, both teams gained valuable experience, according to Head Coach Landon Williams.
    "The Hart County match was very beneficial for both squads because we played about six hours of tennis,” he said. “The players for both squads enjoyed the opportunities and the girls did just enough to come away with a 5-4 win.”

  • BASEBALL: Knights drop season opener

    The Marion County High School Knights Baseball Team kicked off the regular season with a disappointing 9-0 loss against cross-border rival Washington County on March 9.
    Despite the loss, Knights Head Coach Patrick Campbell still had reason to be optimistic about the season.

  • Harmon hired as new football coach

    Allen Harmon has been hired as the new head coach for Marion County High School's football team.
    Harmon most recently served as the offensive coordinator at McCracken County in 2014 after having served in the same position at Lone Oak High School.

  • SOFTBALL: Lady Knights split opening two games

    The Marion County Lady Knights lost a scrimmage against the Garrard County Lady Lions on March 8, 2-0.
    The Lady Lions struck first in the top of the second with a run, but senior Kenlee Stout recorded the third out to contain the damage. The Lady Lions would extend the lead to 2-0 helped in part by a Lady Knights error in the sixth.
    Caroline Buckman recorded a double for the Lady Knights in the sixth with two outs.

  • Tennis team opens season

    The Marion County tennis teams played in two scrimmages on March 8 in a boys match against Danville and then on March 9 against Adair County. 
    After their two scrimmages, the Knights kicked off the regular season with a rough start against the Campbellsville Eagles on March 11, falling 6-3.
