  • Knights golf has good week

    The Marion County High School golf team played two matches last week. One match was against Mercer County and the other match was against Nelson County and Green County.
    In the match against Mercer County the Knights came out on top 180 to 199.  Individual scores for the Knights were Logan Medley and Mason Gadberry each with a 44, Evan Dye with a 45, and Casey Lee with a 47.
    "It wasn't pretty golf on either side," Head Coach Chad Spalding said. "Mason had a good round, just had one bad hole."

  • Soccer Knights split four games

    The Marion County High School boys soccer team played four games last week and managed to split those four contests. The first win came against Campbellsville Wednesday before the team headed to Nelson County to take part in the Nelson County Invitational. The team dropped their first two games in the Invitational; one to Nelson County and one to Kentucky Country Day. The Knights finished off the Invitational with a win over Rowan County.

  • Lady Knights fall to top 15 soccer team

    The Marion County High School Lady Knights soccer team traveled to Boyle County to take on the Lady Rebels Tuesday of last week. Boyle County is ranked in the top 15 in the state according to Head Coach Devin Johnson, and it showed in the game. The Lady Knights fell in the game 10-0.
    "The score was definitely not as bad as it may appear," Head Coach Devin Johnson said. "We entered the game with a very defensive mindset, just trying to keep them out of our goal. And for the first 35 minutes we did a tremendous job of doing just that."

  • Lady Knights clinch No. 1 volleyball seed

    The Marion County Lady Knights volleyball team competed in the Abraham Slam Jam Tournament in LaRue County Saturday, and played district matches against Adair County and Taylor County throughout last week. Marion County won four out of five matches in the tourney, with their overall record now standing at 20-4. The Lady Knights were able to win the two district games against Adair County and Taylor County, taking their district record to 6-0, and giving them the No. 1 seed in the district tournament.

  • Knights can't keep up with Cardinals

    The Marion County Knights hosted the Nelson County Cardinals Friday night in a football game that pitted two winless teams against each other. The Knights were within striking distance early, but a historic night by the Cardinal quarterback would not allow them to be beat. The Knights fell in the game by a final score of 59-38.

  • Golf teams split matches

    The Marion County Knights golf team competed in two matches this past week, playing against Adair County on the road on Tuesday of last week and taking on Bardstown at Rosewood Golf Club Thursday.
    Thursday against Bardstown, Marion County won the match 177 to 196. Individual team scores for the Knights were Logan Medley with a 41, Mason Gadberry with a 43, Trevor Burchell with a 46 and Casey Lee with a 47. Brianna Reynolds also played against Bardstown, winning her match by shooting a 48.

  • Coach: Boys soccer team "complacent and apathetic" in loss

    The Marion County Knights soccer team hosted Thomas Nelson High School on Aug. 28. After coming off three straight losses, the Knights couldn't find much better luck in this game. Marion County lost the game by a final score of 2-1.
    The Knights started out playing well in the first half, but were unable to score any goals until late in the half. Dylan Spalding received a pass from his teammate and was able to find the net to give Marion County the 1-0 halftime lead.
    According to Head Coach Greg Conley, a seemingly changed team came out of the locker room.

  • Lady Knights pick up first soccer win of season

    The Marion County Lady Knights soccer team went on the road to play Hart County Thursday night. After falling short in their first five games, the Lady Knights finally broke into the win column in this important district game. Marion County came out strong early and left with an impressive 5-0 win.

  • Volleyball team wins 9 straight

    The Marion County Lady Knights volleyball team had a busy week, playing in the Marion County Invitational last Saturday, and competing against Adair County, Washington County and Campbellsville throughout the week. The Lady Knights won all of their matches, taking their overall record to 14-3 after nine straight victories.

  • Boys golf has good week

    The boys golf team competed against Nelson County Thursday, and edged Nelson County's varsity team by one stroke, winning with a total of 182. Nelson County's varsity team finished with a 183. In junior varsity play, Marion County had a total of 118, while Nelson finished with a 105 to defeat the Knights. The top four scores for the varsity team were a 40, 45, 48 and 49 to win the match.
