  • Lady Knights lose to Lady Waves

  • YEAR IN REVIEW: Top Sports Stories of 2014

    The biggest stories don't always have happy endings, and sometimes they transcend the sports pages.
    Marion County had a lot to celebrate in 2014. The Lady Knights claimed more district titles in basketball and volleyball, and the Knights tennis team had a year to remember on the court.
    Individual players reached career milestones and turned in spectacular single-game performances.
    Unfortunately, Marion County lost one of its sideline generals to a difficult disease.
    Here are the biggest sports stories of the past year.

  • Marion County sweeps C'ville

    The New Year started off great for Marion County, with both the Knights and Lady Knights winning over Campbellsville on Jan. 2.
    The Lady Knights (6-5) played the Lady Eagles (5-9) first, and won, 58-24.
    “It was a good district win for our team,” Head Coach Anthony Epps said. “I really liked the effort and energy our team played with. It was our third win in a row. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going in the New Year.”

  • Knights lose to Trojans

    On Jan. 3 the Marion County Knights (6-6) visited the Barren County Trojans (11-3). Unfortunately for the Knights, they did not come home with a win, losing 60-52.
    In the first quarter, the Knights started strong, taking a 21-11 lead.
    In the second quarter, the Trojans added 24 points, and the Knights added only seven to fall behind at the half, 35-28.

  • Lady Knights take two in holiday tournament

    The Marion County Lady Knights lost their opening game Saturday in the Franklin Family Chevrolet Holiday Jam at Nelson County, but responded with back-to-back wins in the consolation bracket.

  • Knights win two of three over weekend

    Marion County got off to a rocky start in the Campbellsville Holiday Classic, but the Knights bounced back to win their final two games over the weekend.

    The Knights stand at 5-5 on the season.

  • Marion County sweeps Dragons

    On Dec. 16 the Marion County Lady Knight and the Knights hosted Green County. The Lady Knights won the first game of the double-header, defeating the Lady Dragons in overtime, 68-65. 

  • Lady Knights fall to Lady Chargers

    On Dec. 18 the Marion County Lady Knights visited the Bullitt County Lady Chargers. 

    Unfortunately for the Lady Knights, they couldn’t finish off with a win, losing 63-54. 

    After the first quarter the Lady Knights had the lead 13-12, and the game was tied 26-26 at the half. 

  • Knights defeat Indians

    After trailing by just one point in the first quarter, the Marion County Knights picked up their intensity and took the lead for most the game, defeating the host Adair County Indians, 56-47, on Dec. 9.

  • Lady Knights pick up win over Central Hardin

    After a loss against the Adair County Lady Indians on Dec. 9, the Marion County Lady Knights bounced back with a home court win Dec. 11 against the Central Hardin Lady Bruins, 61-23.
