  • Players step up their game in Maroon-White Scrimmage

    The Marion County Knights annual maroon-white scrimmage, which was held March 31, at Boswell stadium, was the best one in seven years, according to Head Coach Jeff Robbins.
    “We’ve been playing this game for seven years, and this is by far the best, and most physical, one we’ve had,” he said to the team after the game.

  • Little League night will be rescheduled

    The Marion County High School baseball team had planned to host a Little League night April 7, but that game against Bethleham was moved to Nelson County.

    The Little League night will be rescheduled for later this season.

  • Lady Knights take two

    The Marion County Lady Knights softball team only had two games last week, both on the road. The Lady Knights played Danville on Monday night and traveled to Boyle County on Thursday night. Marion County easily handled Danville 16-2 and also defeated Boyle by a score of 7-3. This takes the Lady Knights softball team’s record to 4-1 on the season. Marion County will travel to Russell County April 8-9 to compete in the Lady Laker Classic.
    According to Head Coach Trent Milby, the Lady Knights have room for improvement.

  • No-Hitter

    The Knight’s baseball team played three games this past week and came away with a record of 3-0. The teams wins came against Bishop Brossart, Cumberland County, and Green County in the Green County Wood Bat Invitational held Friday and Saturday at American Legion Park in Green County.

  • Knights, Lady Knights have first meet of the season in LaRue County

    Friday afternoon the Marion County Knights and Lady Knights opened their seasons at the LaRue County Invitational. Overall, the girls team struggled throughout the meet and was only able to collect three points, while the boys team finished in the middle of the pack with a total of 41 points.

  • Knights have mixed week

    The Marion County Knights baseball team had a tough first week of action, playing five road games. The Knights dropped the first three games to Washington County, Danville, and Eastern High School before picking up two wins on Saturday against Waggener and Scott County in the Eastern Invitational, leaving their record at 2-3 for the season so far.

  • Epps will try out for USA team

    Marion County High School Lady Knights standout point guard Makayla Epps recently received an invitation to participate in team trials for the under-16 USA Basketball team.
    The try-outs for this 12-member team will be held from May 26-30 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
    The USA Basketball Developmental National Team Committee asked approximately 30 athletes to receive an invitation to attend the trials. Other athletes will be allowed to try out by submitting an application. Due to space limitation, a maximum of 200 athletes will be permitted to attend the trials.

  • Lady Knights win two of three games

    With five seniors and two juniors in the starting line-up for the Marion County Lady Knights softball team, the experience is there and it has shown throughout this first week of softball action  Add in a little mix of youth and you have a good combination. The Lady Knights have had a very successful week, winning two out of three of their games. The team beat LaRue County and Nelson County, before losing to Bullitt East.
