  • Knights surf past Lakers

    After a tough loss to the Bardstown Tigers last week, the Knights basketball team hosted and defeated the Russell County Lakers on Friday, 55-54.

    “It feels great to get this win,” Knights Coach Montrelle Irvin said. “Three close games. We’re grateful to pull out a W.”

  • Lady Knights fall to John Hardin

    After leading for much of the game, the Marion County Lady Knights could not hold on against the visiting John Hardin Lady Bulldogs, losing 48-45 on Dec. 2. 

  • Lady Knights open with win over Bardstown

    Both Marion County basketball teams opened their seasons Monday evening on the road.

    The Lady Knights travelled to Bardstown, where they defeated the Lady Tigers, 44-43.

    Sophomore guard Haeli Howard led the Lady Knights with at 23-point performance. Sophomore guard Ambrasia Adams added 10 points in the win.

  • Knights Madness

     The Marion County Knights basketball teams treated their fans to a preview of what’s to come during Knights Madness, an open practice and scrimmage on Nov. 25.

  • Aquaknights take 10th in first meet

     The Marion County swim team opened its season Nov. 15 at the Lakers Fall Preview in Russell County. The Aquaknights finished 10th in the team competition with a score of 146 points.

    The host, Russell County, won the meet with 821 points. The runner-up, Montgomery County, finished with 430.5 points.

  • Knights, Lady Knights tip-off Monday

    Marion County basketball fans will have to hit the road if they want to watch local teams play in their season openers.

    Monday, Dec. 1, the Lady Knights will be heading to Bardstown for a 7:30 p.m.  game against the Lady Tigers, while the Knights will visit the Casey County Rebels at 8 p.m. The Knights will return to the road Tuesday, Dec. 2, for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against the Bardstown Tigers.

  • Volleyballer seeking donations to compete ‘down under’

     Shelby Goode has been invited to participate in the Down Under Sports Tournaments hosted on the Gold Coast of Australia. She will be participating in this international event on the East Conference Volleyball Team during the summer of 2015. She is looking for sponsors to make donations towards the cost of competing down under. 

  • Golf awards announced

     The Marion County High School Knights held their annual awards banquet on Nov. 11. 

    Several Knights received multiple awards. Taking the academic all-state awards were Daniel Maupin and Dylan Cambron. Trevor Burchell and Cody Bramel received academic honorable mention awards. 

  • Coach happy with Lady Knights in scrimmage

    The Marion County Lady Knights hosted a scrimmage against the Grayson County Lady Cougars over the weekend. 

    Although they did not keep score, the Lady Knights dominated the court in several quarters of the game and were left fighting in others. 

    Lady Knights Coach Anthony Epps said he was happy with the team’s performance. 

  • Knights look to build on winning season

    The Marion County Knights’ football season is at a close, and basketballseason is right around the corner. Unlike what many people expected, the Knights finished with a winning 6-5 record on the gridiron for the first time since 2009.

    “I’m happy with it,” Knights Interim Coach Matthew “Moo Moo” Mattingly said. “Any time you can get a winning record, especially the first one since ‘09, you gotta be happy with it.”
