    The Lady Knights were very close to a victory in their season opener.
    Three Lady Knights hit double digits, but Marion County fell 53-51 in Kelly Wood’s coaching debut at Marion County on Nov. 28 at the Roby Dome.
    Maddie Wood led Lady Knights with 15 points. Katie Mattingly had 14 and Dailyn Spalding had 10.

    For just over two weeks, the Knights’ faithful will have to hit the road to watch Marion County in action. The Roby Dome bleachers will sit vacant as the Knights kick off an extended stint away from their home floor early in the season.

  • GIRLS BASKETBALL: New look Lady...

    Kelly Wood is starting to see his new system click with the Marion County Lady Knights.
    “We seem to be getting better getting used to the new stuff,” Wood said. “We’re hoping we can play basketball within our system. It just takes time. We got to become automatic when it comes to playing.”
    The Lady Knights hit the court for the season opener last night against Bardstown. They host the East Jessamine Jaguars tomorrow night.

  • SWIMMING: Marion County set to...

    With a little extra preparation under their belts, the Marion County Aquaknights have their eyes set on their first meet of the 2017-18 season. The Aquaknights decided not to compete at the first scheduled meet on Nov. 18 in order to get more practice in.
    With that extra practice now in, Head Coach Brian Pirkle is expecting a solid performance from his team when they compete at T.K. Stone Elementary at 1 p.m., Dec. 2. Marion County will be teaming up with Nelson County and Thomas Nelson to take on Elizabethtown in the meet.
