  • VOLLEYBALL: Lady Knights lose to...

    The Marion County Lady Knights began the week against the Nelson County Lady Cardinals on Aug. 29 at the Roby Dome, but lost in four sets of play, 18-25, 25-7, 26-28, 20-25.
    "We seem to come out flat in most of our first sets this season and did that again tonight," Lady Knights Head Coach David Hibbard said. "Almost no offense was the result of our poor defense. I'm surprised we were as close as we were."

  • Marion Middle Knights action

    The St. Charles Middle School and Lebanon Middle School football teams have merged together for the upcoming football season to form the Marion Middle Knights. The team is being coached by co-head coaches Brian Pirkle and Wayne Sickles.
    The Knights will be playing in the A section of the Mid-Kentucky Conference and will be fielding a total of 47 players on the sixth, seventh and eighth grade teams.
    All home matches for the Knights will be played on John J. Boswell Field at MCHS.

    But not all of it was about news items.
    We also talked about everything golf.
    Tom told me that he charted every round of golf that he played, including keeping statistics on his performance.

    Coming off a dominating performance against the Nelson County Cardinals to open the season, the Marion County Knights looked to notch a win against the Elizabethtown Tigers on Aug. 26, but fell 41-6.
    Knights Head Coach Allen Harmon explained his team came out with good energy to start but failed to take advantage of several opportunities.
    "When you give a good team like E'town turnovers and fail to take advantage of opportunities, they're going to make you pay," Harmon said.

  • George siblings find success...

    Eli and Caroline George, children of Dallas and Katie George of Lebanon, swam for Wolf Creek Swim Team in Louisville this summer. Eli swam the 8 and under group and qualified to swim in the final City Champs meet in July. Eli swam 24.82 in 25-meter fly and placed second, 29.28 in 25-meter breast and placed second, 22.30 in 25-meter free and placed third. Caroline qualified for the 25-meter free with the 6 and under group and swam in 31.64 and placed seventh. Their brother, Graham George, 4, also swam for Wolf Creek.

A photo allows us to remember an amazing or memorable moment in our lives, from a wedding to a pet, or anything! A photo brings up so many memories and emotions of the event from which the image came.

    The Marion County Lady Knights began the week against the John Hardin Lady Bulldogs on Aug. 22, but fell 6-1.
    "We played relatively well," Lady Knights Head Coach Daniel Johnson said. "We are getting better with each game offensively and we were able to stay with them defensively."
    Johnson also said improvement offensively is one of the main focuses this season.
