  • Fenwick signs with St. Catharine

    Senior Emily Fenwick recently signed with St. Catharine College to play softball.   • Baseball and Softball Update

    The Marion County High School Lady Knights softball game originally scheduled for March 23 at Bethlehem that was postponed due to rain has now been rescheduled for Thursday night March 29 at 6:00 P.M.

  • Softball Team Remains Unbeaten

    The Marion County Lady Knights softball team played a pair of games last week, and picked up wins in both contests.  With the two wins, the team now holds a perfect 3-0 record.

    Last Monday night the team traveled to Washington County.  The Lady Knights found themselves in an early 4-0 hole before the bats came to life.  The Lady Knights scored at least two runs in each of the final four innings to win the game by a final score of 16-5.

  • Baseball Team Now 3-3

    Heading into last week, the Marion County High School baseball team held a 2-1 record.  After defeating Nelson County but falling to Washington County and John Hardin, the team now has a record of 3-3 on the season.

    Last Monday the team hosted Washington County.  After an explosive first inning, the two teams settled down and played some good baseball.  The Commanders came out on top by one run in a 5-4 final score.

  • Off to good start

    The Marion County Knights varsity baseball team picked up a win in their opener over Bardstown Tuesday of last week, lost to Danville Wednesday, and defeated Berea on Saturday. The teams other game, scheduled for Friday against North Hardin, was canceled due to rain. The Knights game against the Trojans is scheduled to be made up, but no date has been set. After the first week of the season, the Knights are 2-1 overall.

  • Knights tennis starts strong

    The Marion County Knights boys' tennis team headed to Hodgenville to open up their 2012 season on Friday night against LaRue County. The Knights found success, and defeated the Hawks by an overall score of 4-1. Heading into the season, first year Head Coach Landon Williams knew that he would be returning a large group of key players.
    "The boys' team returns seven players from last year's team, which performed at a high level," he said. "I'm anxious to see what this season has in store."

  • Girls tennis team has rough start

    The Marion County High School girls' tennis team had a rough start to their 2012 season. The Lady Knights traveled to LaRue County, and were handily defeated.
    Taylor Corbett fell to Michelle Seymour in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Alyssa Farmer fell to Nancy Howell, 6-2, 6-4. Elyssa Holt and Madison Cassidy lost to Paige Nalley and Amelea Miller, 6-4, 6-2. Madeline Peterson and Emma Thompson lost to Haylee Best and Madison Lee, 6-0, 6-0. The lone victory for the Lady Knights came from Allie Evans who defeated Caitlin Lewis, 8-5.

  • Loretto Youth League sign-ups

    Sign-ups for the Loretto slow pitch softball and T-ball league will be held every Wednesday night in the month of March from 6-7 p.m. at the Loretto Ball Park under the pavilion. If rain or cold weather it will be held in the city hall.
    The leagues are:
    • T-ball 3-5 yrs. (hit off the tee)
    • Girls 6-7-8-9 yrs. Softball (coach pitched)
    • Girls 10-11-12 yrs. Softball (coach pitched)
    • Boys 6-7-8-9 yrs. Softball (coach pitched)
