  • Marks inducted into Hall of Fame

    Danny Marks was inducted into the 5th Region Hall of Fame prior to the boy's regional championship game at Central Hardin High School. Presenting the award to Marks is Marion County High School Athletic Director/Assistant Principal Robby Peterson.

  • Roby honored by KHSAA

    Beverly "Sis" Roby was honored at halftime of the girls Sweeet 16 state championship game for her contributions to girls' athletics in Kentucky.

  • Knights fall short in region...

    The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team traveled to Central Hardin High School to take on the Bardstown Tigers in the semifinals of the regional tournament Monday of last week.
    Despite a major comeback in the second half, the Knights fell short by three points, losing the contest 63-60.

  • So close, yet so far

    The Marion County Lady Knights varsity basketball team played for a state title Saturday evening, an accomplishment that no other girls' team has been able to reach. Last year's team had advanced the farthest up to this point, making it to the final four. With a tough battle sure to follow, the Lady Knights knew they had to be up to a serious challenge. After a 32-minute, knock-down, drag-out battle, the Lady Knights came up just a bit short, and fell to Manual by a final score of 58-54.

  • What a ride

    As I am typing this column, I am totally worn out.
    I have spent this past weekend in Bowling Green with my husband Josh, my daughter, Karli, my mom, and my uncle, along with many other Marion County fans, watching the Lady Knights basketball team as they made history once again.  

  • Lady Knights Come Up Just Short

  • Lady Knights vs. DuPont Manual;...

    The Marion County Lady Knights are preparing to take on the DuPont Manual Lady Crimsons in the KHSAA Sweet 16 State Basketball Tournament championship game.  Last year, the Lady Knights were defeated by Manual 56-54 in the semi-final round, and hope to change that outcome in this matchup.  The two teams split two head to head meeting this year with Marion County winning by two points, and Manual taking their win by seven points.

    The two teams just took the floor for warmups, with tip off approximately 25 minutes away.

  • Lady Knights vs. Lincoln County

    The Marion County Lady Knights and the Lincoln County Lady Patriots are set to square off in the second semi-final, following DuPont Manual and Dunbar.  The Lady Knights game is set to tip at 12:30 P.M.  Check back for live in game updates.

    Currently Manual leads Dunbar 42-35 at halftime.  Dunbar is hanging tough, but Manual reeled off five unanswered points to close out the half.

    Manual wants to pull away, and Dunbar is giving them every chance to do so.  Manual leads by 8 middle of third quarter; Man 48, Dunbar 40

  • Lady Knights Secure Final Four...

    The Marion County Lady Knights took on the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers in the quarterfinals of the KHSAA Sweet 16 State Basketball tournament on Friday night. The Lady Knights led nearly the entire way, and once ballooned their lead to 40 points with just over two minutes remaining in the game.

    With the win, the Lady Knights advance to take on Lincoln County in the Final Four on Saturday at 12:30 P.M. EST.
