  • Weekend offers hunting and...

Coming up this weekend are several activities to keep anyone entertained!
For the hunter, we have the spring youth wild turkey weekend coming up on April 6-7.
Some things to keep in mind: Make sure the youth has a gun that fits. Pattern your gun at 25 to 30 and aim where the birds’ neck meets his body. If possible use a full blind, if you don’t have a full blind back up to a tree trunk/brush and don’t move (it’s said a turkey can see a blink)! Don’t over-call and wait for your bird to come to you, which could take a while.

  • ThatEppsKid

Who would have thought that a tiny sixth grader that scored three points in her varsity debut on the Marion County High School basketball team on Dec. 15, 2006, against Danville would turn out to be the top basketball player in the state of Kentucky and one of the best players in the entire country? If you said you would, you had some high hopes for a sixth grader. Sure, the name Epps brings with it some high notoriety, but for her to have accomplished all the things that she did is truly a remarkable feat.
