  • Harriers run in regional meet

     After a season of running, the Marion Country boys and girls cross country teams’ final race was at the Class 2A Region 2 cross country championship on Saturday in Bowling Green.

    Marion County girls cross country runner Meredith Bartley, a sophomore, finished the girls 5K run with a time of 24:06.64. She placed 54 out 80.

    Charles Edwards of Lebanon caught this 7-pound bass recently in a local farm pond.

  • Keep an eye out for big bucks...

    As our “modern firearms” deer season approaches, Nov. 9-18 in our Zone 3, a conversation with other hunters usually turns to the size of bucks we’re likely to encounter.

    Sometimes I’ll hear statements like “There aren’t any ‘big’ bucks left.”

     The Marion County High School baseball team hosted the Knight Time 5K Friday evening before the football border war between Marion County and Washington County.

  • Goodin-Rogers will miss 2013-14...

    Former Marion County Lady Knight and current University of Kentucky freshman basketball player Kyvin Goodin-Rogers has been diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and will miss the 2013-14 season, according to a UK press release.

  • New face in the field

    I’m Will Phillips, and I’m the new correspondent here at The Lebanon Enterprise. Primarily, I’ll be covering Marion County sports. 

  • Lady Knights win another...

    The Marion County Lady Knights won another 20th District championship by defeating the Taylor County Lady Cardinals in three sets (26-14, 25-17, 25-16) on Oct. 22.

     “It feels good,” Lady Knights Coach David Hibbard said. “That’s six in a row for our program.”

    The win also improved Marion County’s record to 24-11 heading into the regional tournament.

  • Lexington Catholic too much for...

    The Marion County Knights had a hard time moving the ball on Friday night, as they played host to Lexington Catholic. Marion County was unable to find the end zone until the 10:10 mark of the fourth quarter, when junior Eddie Ponce managed to find pay dirt. The extra point was blocked, though, and the Knights managed only 9 points as they lost, 62-9.
