  • Basketball games rescheduled for...

The high school basketball games scheduled for tonight, Feb. 14, between North Hardin and Marion County have been postponed.

Hardin County schools are not letting their buses out this evening because of the anticipated weather, according to Marion County Athletics Director Robby Peterson.

However, those games have been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon.

The girls will play at 3 p.m., and the boys game will start after the girls' game.

Whether she’s making points, setting up teammates to score, or just making it look easy, Marion County Lady Knight Haeli Howard does it all.

The 14-year-old, 5-foot-4-inch tall freshman point guard got her start playing with the Lady Knights three years ago when she was in the sixth grade.

Saturday’s win marks the eighth consecutive season that the Lady Knights have swept their neighboring rival.

The Marion County Lady Knights were in action against the Taylor County Lady Cardinals Friday night in the Roby Dome.

It was a low-scoring affair from the opening tip. The first score came nearly two minutes into the game on a free throw by Taylor County junior guard Haley Wright.

  • Almost in Olympic spirits

Industrialization. Empty shells of buildings. Soot. What am I talking about, you ask? The slums of Cleveland? War-torn Bosnia?

No, silly. I’m talking about the Winter Games and their host city, Sochi.

  • Sore shoulders are just part of...

After I whined about the recent early deadlines I had over the holidays, I’m now enduring a self-imposed early deadline, turn in Saturday instead of Sunday.

This one I can live with cause it involves leaving on a snow goose hunting trip. Terry, Billy, Ryan and I are heading to Arkansas to take part in their Light Goose Conservation Order Season.
