  • Winter games will soon be here

Outside of working for The Lebanon Enterprise, I don’t watch a lot of sports.
I suppose you could compare that to someone who makes chocolate for a living, I am sure they don’t eat a lot of it outside of work, either.
Because of this fact, I found myself in a pickle when it came time to write this column.
As I struggled to find a topic, I was quickly reminded that the Olympics are right around the corner.

  • Hunters on the prowl to find...

First off, we moved the December 4-H Fishing Club meeting from the 19 to Dec. 12.
We’re going to be making an ornament for your tree, so you’ll want to be sure to attend!

Seems the predator hunting bug bit Terry Davis. Now we’re still going duck hunting, but have accepted one hard fact: There just aren’t that many ducks around here. At least not enough to support a bad duckaholic!
So what does one do in the absence of ducks? Seems the answer, in addition to rabbits, squirrels, quail, would be predators. Specifically coyotes!

  • Dec. 6 boys basketball game has...

  • Nothing fishy: bass fishing...

Jerry Smith spoke to the Marion County Board of Education on Nov. 12 to request permission to create a bass fishing team at Marion County High School.
On Nov. 26, he got his answer when the board voted 4-1 in favor of adding bass fishing to the high school’s activities.
Board member Mike Cecil cast the dissenting vote. He said he still had a lot of questions about the program, and he wasn’t sure he was ready to vote on it.
“I hope I’m wrong on this whole issue,” Mike Cecil said.
