  • District Champions

                 The Marion County Lady Knights softball team competed in the first round of the 20th District Tournament on Tuesday of last week, playing Campbellsville and winning by a final score of 10-0.  This win would take them to the championship game last Wednesday night against Taylor County, and secure a 5th Region tournament appearance.

  • Knights season ends in heartbreak

     The Marion County Knights baseball team traveled to Taylor County High School on Tuesday night of last week, playing the Adair County Indians in the first round of the 20th District Tournament.  After a hard fought battle that went into extra innings, the Knights fell short 2-1 in the contest, taking away their chance to compete in the championship game and the regional tournament.  With this loss, Marion County finishes the season with a 15-18 record.

  • Lady Knights play for district...

    The Marion County High School softball team is scheduled to play host Taylor County at 6 p.m. Tonight, May 23, in the 20th District tournament championship.
    Marion County defeated Campbellsville, 10-0, in the opening round, and Taylor County reached the title game by defeating Adair County, 7-1.
    The Lady Knights and Lady Cardinals have played twice this season. Marion County won both games by scores of 4-2 and 6-0.

  • Baseball Knights go 1-1 in last...

    The Marion County Knights baseball team went 1-1 on the week, taking their overall regular season record to 15-17. The Knights were scheduled to play Adair County last night in the first round of the 20th District tournament, but results were unknown at press time. Full results will be in next week's issue.

  • Girls soccer meeting is May 25

    There will be a girls high school soccer meeting at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 25, in Coach Greg Conley's room at the Marion County Area Technology Center for any girl interested in playing soccer for the high school next season.
    Both parents and players should attend.

  • More to tournament than just...

    When I wrote about pre-fishing for a bass tournament I should've mentioned that there's more to it than just fishing.
    It it's a lake your not familiar with there's map study, Google Earth, researching past tournament results, weather trends and seasonal patterns. Then come the visits to area bait shops and angler hangouts...to talk with the locals.
    Lakes your familiar with only actually require you to consider the season, weather and water temperature. Everything else is based in your past experiences!

  • Lady Knights finish regular...

    The Marion County Lady Knights softball team went 1-2 on the week, taking their overall record to 21-8 to finish out the regular season.  
    Coach Todd Spalding hopes that the win over CAL will give the team momentum heading into district play.
