  • Knights fall short to John Hardin

    The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team went on the road to take on John Hardin Tuesday of last week. Despite a 29-point third quarter with six three pointers, the Knights couldn't get any closer than cutting John Hardin's lead to one point. Marion County had several chances to take the lead at the end, but fell short to the Bulldogs, losing 71-66. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with 23 points, tying a career high for three pointers with five in the game.

  • Knights lose last regular season...

    The Marion County Knights varsity basketball team traveled to Hodgenville to take on the LaRue County Hawks Friday night. After controlling the game early on, the Hawks made a comeback to send the Knights to their 11th defeat of the season. Senior John Southall led the way for the Knights with a game high 25 points.

  • Have no Mercy

    The Marion County Lady Knights varsity basketball team hosted Mercy Academy on Tuesday of last week at the Roby Dome. After defeating the Lady Jaguars in late January in the semi-finals of the LIT, the Lady Knights repeated that performance. Just as it was on the Jan. 28 match-up, a close game ensued and Marion County was able to pull out the victory in the end.

  • Knights Pull Out Win

    In the nightcap of day one of the 2012 20th district tournament, the Marion County Knights took on the Campbellsville Eagles.  After a slow start in which both teams combined for 14 first quarter points, the Knights broke the game open in the second frame and began to pull away.  The Eagles hung around in the second half, but the Knights came away with the 63-43 victory to advance to the finals on Saturday night at 7:30 P.M.

  • Lady Knights Cruise to District...

    In the first game of the 2012 20th district tournament at Taylor County High School, the Lady Knights took on the Lady Eagles of Campbellsville.  The Lady Knights were in control early on, and cruised to a 74-25 win.  Ten different Lady Knights scored, led by junior Logan Powell with 16 points.  With the win, Marion County advances to the finals of the 20th district tournament on Friday night at 7:30 P.M.

  • Knights Fall in Season Finale

    The Marion County Knights wrapped up their regular season by traveling to Hodgenville Friday night to take on the Larue County Hawks.  After jumping out to a 14-5 lead in the opening frame, the Knights lead kept slipping away.  Larue County pulled ahead with a buzzer beater three pointer at the end of the third quarter, and maintained that lead throughout the rest of the game.  The Knights attempted to stay close, but could not overcome the deficit and lost by a final score of 71-66.
