  • Football Knights take second win

The Marion County High School football team hit the road Friday evening to take on Taylor County. After having their bye week the previous Friday night, the Knights were looking to ride the momentum of their first win of the season over rival Washington County two weeks ago. The Cardinals started the season 4-0, but came into the game after being routed by Boyle County 53-0 the previous week.

  • Golf competes in regionals

The golf teams at Marion County High School competed in regional competition Monday and Tuesday of last week. Brianna Reynolds, the lone girl to play for Marion County, traveled to Fort Knox to compete on Monday. She finished in 17th place overall out of 60 competitors by shooting a 102.

"She had a good year overall and really improved from the previous season," Head Coach Chad Spalding said. "We hope to find some more girl golfers to go along with her next season so we can compete as a team."

  • Lady Knights take second place...

The Marion County Lady Knights volleyball team competed in the Harrison County tournament this past weekend, where they came in second place, went on the road last Thursday night where they lost in four sets, and defeated Washington County on Monday of last week. Their overall record now stands at 26-6.

  • Postseason push

It may seem like a strange time of year to be talking about the postseason.  After all, it is still September. The NFL season has just begun and won't be heading into the postseason until after the turn of the New Year. College football is in the same boat, and basketball seasons haven't started yet. The closest sport preparing to head into postseason is Major League Baseball, but that is not the sport I'm talking about.

  • Cross country team starts out...

The Marion County High School Cross Country team has competed in three meets during their season, and has four more meets scheduled before heading into postseason competition.
"We've started the season well, and I'm pleased with the number of kids we've had out," Head Coach Daniel Johnson said.
