    Marion County at KTCCCA Meet of Champions in Lexington (Middle School State Championships)

  • Lady Knights reach regional...

    Last week, the Marion County Lady Knights hosted and competed in the 5th Region Volleyball Tournament at Marion County High School.
    The Lady Knights defeated their first round opponent, Larue County on Oct. 15. However, in the semifinal round Oct. 17, Marion County fell to Central Hardin, who went on to defeat Green County and win the 5th Region Tournament.  The Lady Knights finished the season 31-7 and 8-0 in the district. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers and Valerie Mattingly were selected to the 5th Region All-Tournament team.

  • Deer: Murphy

    Addi Murphy of Lebanon bagged her first deer, a 7-point buck, on Oct. 13, during the youth hunt. She is the 10-year-old daughter of Carla and Louis Murphy.

  • Deer: Fields

    Taylor Fields, age 12, bagged this 13-point buck on opening day of youth season in Raywick with her Paw Paw, Ricky Fields.

    Josh Osbourne shot his first deer in Bradfordsville recently. He is the son of Brad and Michelle Osbourne.

  • Three for three

    Well, last week was a good week in sports for Marion County High School. Three different sports teams came out with a district tournament championship title and were able to advance to their respective regional tournaments. These three teams were volleyball and boys and girls soccer. I had the pleasure of watching all three of those championship games, and each team played extremely well to win their crowns.

  • Fifth-grader wins race at Green...

    The Marion County cross country team traveled to Green County Saturday to take part in the Green County Invitational. The team had a great showing in the meet and ended up with their first individual winner of the season. Fifth-grader Brianna Mattingly won the elementary school race.  
    "I told the kids before the race that everyone should be faster than they were three weeks ago when we ran the same course," Head Coach Daniel Johnson said.  "I knew it would be a good barometer to see how much we have improved over that time."

  • Offensive struggles continue for...

    The Marion County High School Knights football team hosted Boyle County on senior night Friday, which was the final home game of the season. The Knights struggled all night against the high powered Boyle County team and were unable to get on the scoreboard for the second straight game. The back-to-back shutouts of Marion County marks the first time in program history the team has been blanked in two straight home games in consecutive weeks. The Knights fell by a final score of 63-0.
