  • Little League night will be...

    The Marion County High School baseball team had planned to host a Little League night April 7, but that game against Bethleham was moved to Nelson County.

    The Little League night will be rescheduled for later this season.

     More information will be reported when it becomes available.

  • Lady Knights take two

    The Marion County Lady Knights softball team only had two games last week, both on the road. The Lady Knights played Danville on Monday night and traveled to Boyle County on Thursday night. Marion County easily handled Danville 16-2 and also defeated Boyle by a score of 7-3. This takes the Lady Knights softball team’s record to 4-1 on the season. Marion County will travel to Russell County April 8-9 to compete in the Lady Laker Classic.
    According to Head Coach Trent Milby, the Lady Knights have room for improvement.

    The Knight’s baseball team played three games this past week and came away with a record of 3-0. The teams wins came against Bishop Brossart, Cumberland County, and Green County in the Green County Wood Bat Invitational held Friday and Saturday at American Legion Park in Green County.

    Friday afternoon the Marion County Knights and Lady Knights opened their seasons at the LaRue County Invitational. Overall, the girls team struggled throughout the meet and was only able to collect three points, while the boys team finished in the middle of the pack with a total of 41 points.

    The Marion County Knights tennis team had a strong week, winning all three of their matches. The Knights defeated Bethlehem 5-0 on the road Monday, Washington County 5-0 at home on Tuesday, and Campbellsville 4-1 on the road Thursday.
    “I am really impressed with the improvement of the young players on the team, especially Jonah Gillespie, Michael Spalding, and Timothy Murphy,” Head Coach Chase Burdette said.
