  • Waterfowl season has been foul

Here it is again. Another early deadline and I’ve been home with the flu for the past week. So, you won’t get much this week. I know, ya don’t get much any week, but this time I have an excuse!
Well, as much as I dislike politics, I listened to Obama’s gun control speech. Like some of what I heard, dislike some of what I heard and wish some other stuff had been explained. Oh yeah, the above are my opinions and do not reflect those of The Lebanon Enterprise… or something like that!

  • Leading the way

It’s always with much anticipation for me when the Kentucky High School Athletic Association releases the first basketball stats for the current season. Recently, that finally happened.
As you may have guessed, with a 19-0 girls basketball team, we should find some entries for Marion County in or near the top of the respective categories. And that is exactly what we have.

  • Lady Knights crush Indians

The Marion County High School Lady Knights basketball team hosted the Adair County Lady Indians at the Roby Dome Wednesday. After a bit of a sluggish start, the Lady Knights pulled away and won by a final score of 71-40 to improve to 19-0 on the season.
Early on, Adair County stayed in the game and actually led by three points with five minutes to go in the opening frame. The score remained close as the quarter went on until Marion County went on a 9-2 run to end the frame. The spurt allowed the Lady Knights to take a 14-10 lead into the second quarter.

  • Knights win by one point at...

The Marion County Knights and Lady Knights basketball teams went on the road Friday to take on the Taylor County Cardinals.
In a game that may have implications on the final district standings, the Knights were able to hang on for a tough one-point win. Latrelle Irvin led the Knights with 19 points as Marion County was able to win 41-40. The 41 points matched the lowest total in a win by Marion County ever.

  • Have no mercy

The Autism Awareness Classic was held at Marion County High School Saturday, and the Lady Knights played Mercy in the third game of the day. After a close first half, Marion County pulled away in the third quarter and came away with a 71-56 win. The 15-point margin was the closest for the Lady Knights all season, topping the 79-63 win recently over DuPont Manual.
