    It’s nice to be back on a regular schedule. First, was the early deadline for Christmas, which I missed! Then, there was the early deadline for New Year’s, which I barely made! Now, it’s normal again, at least until Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday!

  • Golf tourney for the Red Cross

    The Bardstown Knights of Columbus, 1290 and the Nelson County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host the 1st Annual Spring Golf Tune-Up, Friday, May, 10 2013 at the Bardstown Country Club, Woodlawn Springs.
    A chance for you and your team to get a tune-up before the Bourbon Open and help the Knights of Columbus and the American Red Cross at the same time. Teams will compete for prizes using a best-ball scramble format.

  • Autism Awareness Classic is Jan...

    The schedule for the third annual Autism Awareness Classic was announced recently. The tournament will feature four games, three girls contests and one boys game played at Marion County High School.

    At 3 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 19, Washington County and Shelby County will play in the first girls contest.  Following that game, DuPont Manual will take on Bowling Green in another girls game scheduled for 4:45 p.m.

  • Battles in the Bluegrass

    Bluegrass Cellular Inc. recently announced its lineup for the third annual basketball Battles in the Bluegrass high school sports program. The Battles in the Bluegrass program showcases rivalry games throughout central Kentucky. This year’s featured rivalries were selected with the help of a panel of Kentucky sports writers.

    Well, it’s me again. Jessica got a bit tied up with our 3-year-old who was pretending to not feel good in order to sleep in the bed with mommy. Well, that worked for Karli, so here I am typing a column.

  • In the Bank

    The Marion County Lady Knights opened their games in the Republic Bank Classic at Lexington Catholic with an easy 60-25 win over the East Carter Lady Raiders on Dec. 21.

    East Carter hit a free throw one minute and 18 seconds into the game, but would not score again until nine seconds remained in the opening frame. As the lead grew from 5-1, to 24-4 as the period ended, four different Lady Knights had scored led by Kyvin Goodin-Rogers’10 points.
