  • Lady Knights cruise to a 20-...

    Saturday night the Marion County Lady Knights varsity girls basketball team was in action taking on the Ballard Lady Bruins in the final game of the 2011 Autism Awareness Classic at the Roby Dome. The Lady Knights seized control, mainly because of multiple turnovers by Ballard, and never showed any signs of weakness as they cruised to a 58-38 victory.  

  • Marion County Lady Knights pound...

    The Marion County Lady Knights varsity girls basketball team traveled to Cecilia to take on the Central Hardin Lady Bruins Monday of last week. Despite being off of their home court, the Lady Knights put on a show, scoring a season high 91 points and defeating the Lady Bruins by a final score of 91-41. Junior Bre Elder led all scorers in the game with 31 points. Only one other time this season has a Lady Knight scored more than 30 points in a game.

  • Knights lose nail-biter to Bruins

    The Marion County Knights varsity boys basketball team played the Central Hardin Bruins on Monday of last week in Cecilia. After being down by four at halftime, the Knights fought back but eventually fell short to the Bruins, losing the game by a final score of 52-51 to take their overall record to 6-6 for the season.  Junior Carlos Litsey led the Knights with 17 points and seven rebounds and senior Josh Brockman finished with 16 points, making some big shots down the stretch to keep the Knights so close in the game.

    Game cancelled
    The Marion County Knights were scheduled to travel to Danville Tuesday of last week to play the Boyle County Rebels in a junior varsity/varsity game.
     Due to bad road conditions, this game was cancelled.

    Swim meet rescheduled
    The home swim meet that was scheduled for Thursday of last week has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27.

  • Knights win thriller against...

    The Marion County Knights varsity boys basketball team took on the Nelson County Cardinals at the Roby Dome Tuesday of last week and edged out a comeback win with a final score of 52-47.
    This was the Knights first game since their win in the Fort Harrod Classic on Dec. 23, a full 12 days ago.
    During the first half, the Knights struggled to put points on the board while the Cardinals seemed to be pulling away.

  • Four games scheduled

    Campbellsville is the host team when the Knights hit the road Friday night.  Junior varsity action will begin at 6 p.m. with varsity action to follow.  Previously this season, the Knights defeated Campbellsville when the Eagles visited Marion County on Dec. 17 with a 57-47 victory. This was the first defeat of the Eagles by the Knights since January of 2008 when Marion County edged out a one-point victory.
