  • I love the madness of March

Well, this is most likely my favorite month of the year, especially this past week. I love watching basketball, and with the first three rounds of the NCAA tournament taking over our television sets, I just can't get enough. For 12 hours straight, on two separate days, basketball took over my television.  With all tournament games being broadcast, the recall button got overworked the past few days switching back and forth between games.

  • Warm weather adds to Cabin Fever...

Over the years our Mid-KY Bass Anglers Cabin Fever Bass Tournament has been held in all types of weather. We've fished in the rain and cold. Sometimes it's been freezing rain, and I think once it was snowing!
But, I know I've never fished in shorts, tee shirt and sandals. At least not till last Sunday. At our tournament, you could've closed your eyes and thought "May" or maybe even "June."
The 80-degree, by my thermometer, "summer" temperature even had the little pop-up storms associated with the warm season.

  • Baseball and Softball Teams in...

After the Knights baseball team split their opening two games of the season, they have done the same in the next two games.  The Knights picked up a win over Bardstown to open the season, but then fell to Danville in the following game.  The Knights improved to 2-1 on the year with a 7-2 win over Berea last Saturday.  On Monday night, the team hosted border rival Washington County and fell 5-4 to the Commanders.  After the loss to the Commanders, the team now has an overall record of 2-2 and will return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to John Hardin.

  • Baseball Teams Splits First Two...

On Tuesday night, the Marion County High School baseball team opened up their 2012 season with a win over Bardstown.  The Knights jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, and held a 5-2 advantage after five innings.  The Tigers plated three runs in their half of the sixth inning before the Knights tacked on the winning two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the 7-5 victory.  Eric Farmer picked up the win in relief.
