  • Socer Training

    Marion County Youth Soccer will hold indoor training sessions at Center Square for the next four Saturdays (Jan. 15, 22, 29 and Feb. 4).
    Under 6-year-old sessions will be from 9-10 a.m. and U-8’s from 10:15-11:15 a.m. The sessions are open for all registered players in MCYSA in those age groups. Players may register for the spring season at the session.
    Coaches of these age groups are requested to attend.

  • Knights defeat Australian team

    On Friday, the Marion County varsity boys basketball team played the Wanneroo Wolves, an Australian travel team, at the Roby Dome. After a close first quarter, the locals pulled away to pick up their sixth win of the season, defeating the Wolves by a final score of 76-54.
    In the first quarter, the two teams were evenly matched through the first five minutes. The Wanneroo Wolves held a 7-6 lead with 4:58 remaining, which was their last lead of the game. The Knights finished the opening quarter on a 5-0 run to lead 11-7 at the end of the period.

  • Upward basketball tips off

    Sunday marked the beginning of the Upward Basketball season for this year.
    All the games will be played at Lebanon Middle School, and will begin every Sunday at 2 p.m. The season plays out for the next nine Sundays, wrapping up with closing ceremonies March 6.
    The director of the league is the pastor of Lebanon Christian church, Robbie Harmon.
    “The main goal is that everyone gets to play, and that everyone learn the fundamentals of the game and have fun,” Harmon said.

  • Boys, girls will face Australian...

    On Friday Jan. 7, the Marion County boys and girls varsity basketball teams will host the Australian Travel Team beginning with girls’ action at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 8 p.m. The Knights faced the Australian team last season and collected a 68-47 win on Dec. 27, 2009. The Lady Knights have never faced the Australian team.
