    The Marion County Lady Knights faced their district rivals, Taylor County, at home this week in a loss that brought their record to 3-5. The Lady Knights lost in three sets and brought their district record to 2-1.
    “We were never really in any of the three sets,” Coach David Hibbard said.
    Although senior Aubrey Logan shined with five kills, two blocks and an ace, the Lady Knights couldn’t hold their own against the Cardinal offense.

  • Football: Yellow Jackets use...

    The Knights looked to shake off a 0-3 start on Sept. 11 when they hosted the Woodford County Yellow Jackets.
    While the Knights showed promise in the game, they lost, 55-18.
    With starting quarterback Luke Abell out for the game with a concussion, the Knights (0-4) placed Deshay Epps under center.
    The Knights’ struggles started right out of the gate, as they surrendered an opening kickoff touchdown and two more touchdowns by quarter’s end.

  • Lady Knights hang on for ‘ugly...

    The Lady Knights volleyball team held onto their winning streak for one more game Tuesday, Sept. 1, when they defeated the Campbellsville Lady Eagles at home, winning 3-1. Unfortunately for the Lady Knights, their streak ended Thursday, when they faced the Bethlehem Lady Eagles, losing in three sets.

    With two losses to open the season, the Marion County Knights looked to turned it around when they traveled to play the Bardstown Tigers on Sept. 4.
    Sadly for the Knights, they lost 43-6.
    “We just started out slow,” Marion County Coach Corey Crume said. “I thought we had a good game plan. Just a couple of plays, a couple of mental breakdowns on defense. I thought we settled down late in the second half, doing the things we wanted to do.”

  • Soccer: Marion County girls...

    The Marion County High School girls soccer team travelled to Spencer and Hart County last week with the hopes of earning their first win of the season. Unfortunately, two more losses were added to the Lady Knights’ record, bringing them to 0-5 this season.
    The Lady Knights played Spencer County on Monday, Aug. 31, and lost 10-0. They then travelled to Hart County on Thursday, Sept. 3, where they lost 6-0.

  • Soccer: Knights get win over...

    Coming off a three-game losing streak, the Marion County Knights pulled out a 3-1 victory over the visiting Anderson County Bearcats on Sept. 3.
    “We came out firing early,” Knights Coach Greg Conley said.
    Within the first 10 minutes, the Knights (3-3) had already racked up two goals. Travis Huellenmeier scored the first goal for the Knights on a header, and Alan Guzman served the assist.
    “It was an amazing goal,” Conley said.

  • Golf: Knights win one, lose one

    The Marion County Knights played in a tri-match against during against the Taylor County Cardinals and Campbellsville Eagles Sept. 1 at Rosewood, and Marion Conty played at the Washington County Commanders on Sept. 3.
    In the tri-match, the Knights lost, scoring a 168. The Eagles scored a 159, while the Cardinals scored a 157. For the Knights, Houston Raikes scored a 40, Bryce Spalding scored a 41, Ethan Spalding scored a 43, and Noah Dye scored a 44.
