  • SOFTBALL: Lady Knights held...

A misjudged throw in the fifth and a poor showing from the bats doomed Marion County in their opening game of the Lady Cardinal Classic Saturday in Campbellsville.
The Lady Knights fell to the Glasgow Lady Scotties, 1-0.
"We struck out 10 times and had three errors.  You cannot win a game with that kind of statistic," Head Coach Jonathan Spalding said.

  • Marion County Middle School...

The Marion County Middle School A team came away with a 4-1 victory in its first regular season game against Bardstown on April 4, but the B team struggled in a 12-2 loss.

  • Redemption

Redemption is such a sweet thing.
    North Carolina must think so.
Avenging a year’s worth of built-up heartbreak, the Tar Heels won the national championship last Monday night in Phoenix, defeating the Gonzaga Bulldogs 71-65 in an ugly contest that saw both teams shoot a combined 46-132 (34.8 percent) from the field and combine for 44 fouls. Both teams also shot 52 free throws in the contest, with many complaining all the free throws and fouls called disrupted the flow of play and made the game borderline unwatchable.

Arguably the most important game for the Marion County Lady Knights will be played in a span of 15 days.

  • TENNIS: Knights slump in match...

Marion County's meet against the Central Hardin Bruins March 28 was a rough outing for the Knights, said Head Coach Noah Swencki. Nonetheless, he was satisfied with his team's effort.
"They didn't play their best," Swencki said, "but they gave their all, and I'm happy with that."
Marion County was only able to win one singles match while dropping all five doubles matches. Bryce Spalding recorded Marion County's only win in the match, defeating Keegan Christensen in two sets, 6-2, 6-4.
