    One reason that Florida signee Keyontae Johnson is playing at Oak Hill Academy this season is because he wanted to be on the same team as Keldon Johnson, a Kentucky signee.
    The two have been friends for years and Keyontae Johnson wanted to spend this season on the court with him before they start playing against each other in college.

    Kyle Purdom, 9, got his first deer, a five-point buck on opening day, Nov. 11, in Bradfordsville. He also caught this largemouth bass. He is the son of Kevin and Amy Purdom.

  • BOYS BASKETBALL: Means scores 45...

    Lez Means is getting a knack for working his way into the record books. Tying a school record in made free throws with 18, Means scored 45 on Nov. 28 as Marion County defeated the Bardstown Tigers 94-86 in overtime. The win marked Marion County’s first win over Bardstown since Feb. 14, 2006.
    Means was recognized before the game for setting a school record last season against Beth Haven in made threes with 10.

    The Lady Knights were very close to a victory in their season opener.
    Three Lady Knights hit double digits, but Marion County fell 53-51 in Kelly Wood’s coaching debut at Marion County on Nov. 28 at the Roby Dome.
    Maddie Wood led Lady Knights with 15 points. Katie Mattingly had 14 and Dailyn Spalding had 10.

    Wiseman is a major Kentucky recruiting target in the 2019 class.
