Boyle sheriff seeking registered sex offender; considered armed, dangerous

The Boyle County Sheriff's office, along with several other law enforcement agencies, is searching for a Perryville man who is in violation of his parole and is considered armed and dangerous.

Eric Nelson, 34, is listed as a resident of Perryville, however, has not been seen at his address in more than 15 days, according to Sheriff Marty Elliott. Nelson, who was charged with rape and sodomy of a 13-year-old in another state.

"He has the potential of being a violent person," said Elliott.

It is believed that Nelson was involved in an armed robbery at a Speedway in Fayette County about 13 days ago and is a person of interest in others.

Officers have learned that Nelson will likely harm law enforcement if approached and has a long history of assaults on law enforcement.

Nelson was believed to be in an older model Saturn.
