A Lebanon child was killed in a tragic accident on the evening of July 15 when his father accidentally struck him with a vehicle in his driveway.

The accident occurred at 6830 Danville Highway in Lebanon at approximately 6 p.m., according to Kentucky State Police Trooper Nick Hale.

“The child was apparently struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a Lebanon residence,” Trooper Hale said. “The vehicle was being operated by the child’s father.”

The father, William Troy Brown, immediately transported his son, 21-month-old Cameron Zander Mathew Brown, to Spring View Hospital after the incident, according to Trooper Hale.

“The child was later airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital, where the child was pronounced deceased during surgery,” Trooper Hale said.

An autopsy was scheduled to be performed, and the accident is currently under investigation. However, KSP does not believe there was any foul play involved. Zander Brown is survived by his father and mother, Christina Marie Patton, of Lebanon, as well as a brother, Brandon Michael Wallace Brown, and two sisters, Lora Raine Brown and Destiny Grace Brown.

Zander Brown’s funeral was held Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Hustonville. According to the family’s friends, they do not have insurance or the money to pay for funeral expenses. If anyone would like to help the family with funeral expenses, call W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home, 1-606-346-2581.
