 As a citizen of Marion County, I am compelled to say something about the agreement that resolved the John Arthur Elder matter. It is certainly possible that Mr. Elder is as innocent as he has proclaimed to be all along. It is likewise possible that Mr. Geoghegan, the special prosecutor, made an honest and correct decision for the people of Marion County when he dismissed the indictment. I do not begrudge Mr. Elder’s success in getting the indictment dismissed. It is his right to pursue such an outcome and I would expect him to seek it. Likewise, I do not begrudge Mr.
