Jennifer Brogle of Hustonville was hired Friday to become the principal at A.C. Glasscock Elementary School.
Brogle has 22 years of experience in Boyle, Lincoln and Danville Independent schools.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be your principal of Glasscock Elementary School,” Brogle said to the Glasscock Elementary staff Friday afternoon. “I’m very excited. I am looking forward to working with each of you. I’ve heard great things about your dedication and commitment to children. I’m eager to work with the central office staff and meet them to see what plans they have for the district and to move the school forward. And I’m mostly anxious to meet the students and families. This is a beautiful community and I’m going to enjoy the drive from Hustonville every day.”
Marion County Superintendent Taylora Schlosser said Brogle was definitely the right person for the job.
“I really think Mrs. Brogle will be an asset not only to our school here but also to our school system,” Schlosser said. “She’s going to bring something to the leadership team.”
The first 11 years of Brogle’s career has been in the elementary setting teaching music, arts and humanities and reading. The past 11 years, she’s been teaching middle and high school arts and humanities, as well as academic mentoring, reading and middle school choir. She currently serves as the assistant principal at Boyle County High School. Last year, she became the building assessment coordinator at BCHS, and helped the high school move forward with college and career readiness standards.
According to Brogle, becoming an elementary school principal has always been one of her goals.
“I have always wanted to be an elementary principal, and this opportunity became available,” she said. “I thought I will apply and see if this is the direction that the Lord wants me to go, and he opened a door for me. So, I’m ready to walk through it.”
Brogle’s first official full work day will be Tuesday, Sept. 3.
She is married to Thomas Brogle, a self-employed farmer, and they have three children, Katelyn, 21, Seth, 19 and Hailey, 13.
