Lady Knights looking strong in final preseason scrimmage

In their final preseason scrimmage before opening up regular season play, the Marion County Lady Knights looked strong as they easily defeated Bryan Station at the Frankfort Christian Academy Saturday morning. Marion County ran off the first 24 unanswered points to take control of the game early on. The Lady Knights held an impressive 29-8 lead after two quarters. The score was cleared after two periods, and the Lady Knights went on to win the third and fourth quarters 28-17 as well. Overall, Marion County won the scrimmage by a final score of 57-25.
"We played a really good first half defensively," Head Coach Trent Milby said.  "In the second half we got a little sloppy at times and played in spurts.  Overall, it was a good tune up for opening the season."
Milby also talked about opening up the season on Monday night.
"We are looking forward to the start of the season, and opening on the road will be a good test early on for us," he said.
The Lady Knights opened up regular season play on Monday night at Clark County High School against George Rogers Clark. Results of the game were unavailable as of press time. Marion County will have their home opener on Friday night when they host Nelson County at 6:30 p.m. The following day, Dec. 1, the team will travel to Casey County for a Saturday afternoon game at 3:30 p.m.
