Leah Hazelwood named 2018 Marion County Distinguished Young Woman

She is the first African American young woman to win the competition in Marion County

Leah Hazelwood was not only named the 2018 Marion County Distinguished Young Woman, but she also made history as the first African American participant to ever win the local competition.


Hazelwood is the daughter of David Hazelwood and Autria Calhoun of Lebanon.

Other winners included: First runner-up Jane Palagi, second runner-up Harmony Lanham and third runner-up Caroline Piekarski.
