Marion County Fair begins June 29

The Marion County Fair returns Saturday, June 29, and continues through Saturday July 6 at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
The carnival and two new features — Laser Tag and Nojoe’s Circus — will be available every evening from July 1 through July 6. The carnival opens at 6 p.m. nightly, and Laser Tag will be available all evening.
Nojoe’s Circus will give two performances per night. The circus will include clowns, trampoline and trapeze artists, the Dynamo Dogs and much more.
June 29 is Marion County AG Day and the open beef show will begin at 10 a.m.
July 1 entries will be accepted at Floral Hall from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Most other events will begin that evening. The carnival opens at 6 p.m., and the children’s pageants start at 6:30 p.m. The Miss Teen and Miss Marion County pageants are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
On July 2, harness racing begins at 5 p.m., and the open rabbit show starts at 6 p.m. Channel 6 television will be filming an episode of its game show “Relatively Speaking” at 8 p.m.
On July 3, the Rockcastle Band will perform from 7 to 11 p.m.
On July 4, ATC dirt drag racing is scheduled for 8 p.m.
On July 5, the open poultry show starts at 6 p.m., and the demolition derby is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m.
On July 6, the mule pull registration begins at 8 a.m. The goat show begins at 5 p.m. The truck and tractor pull is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The open dairy show will be held a week later at 10 a.m. July 13.
