Marion County Public Library How-To Festival and More

-A A +A

Is there something you’ve always wanted to learn how to do, but don’t know where to begin? The Marion County Public Library has the event for you.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, the Marion County Public Library will be hosting a How-To Festival, offering more than 30 20-minute sessions on everything from how to tie a bow tie to how to create a disaster plan, from how to utilize social media to how to fold a fitted sheet! There’s something for everyone packed in these sessions! Volunteers from all over our community and beyond have agreed to share their knowledge and expertise. The best part… it’s all free.
In addition, you can also learn how you can help the library with a reading garden expansion and paint a book quilt in the near future. Got bottle caps? Learn how to donate bottle caps that will be turned into benches for the reading garden.
Love movies and the Veronica Roth Divergent series? Attend our next free Cinema at the Square on Friday, Sept. 19, with gates opening at 7 p.m. and the movie starting at dusk. The first 150 people through the gates will receive a free one-day rental code from Redbox.
Don’t forget to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and check out our website (www.marioncopublic.org) for upcoming events because there’s always something going on at the library.
One last how to that’s offered every day at the library… How to be the smartest person in the room – get a library card.
