School uniforms, district-wide dress code topic of town hall meeting

By Stevie Lowery

A decision has not yet been made about requiring school uniforms or enacting a district-wide dress code, but the pros and cons were discussed during a town hall meeting Monday, Nov. 14.

Approximately 35 people attended the meeting in Marion County High School's cafeteria, including parents, students, school employees, school board members and members of the district's uniform/dress code committee. Some of those in attendance were very much in favor of uniforms or a district-wide dress code, others were opposed and a few were on the fence.
