Second half propels Lady Knights to regional championship game

Will face LaRue County Tuesday night

On Sunday night, the Marion County Lady Knights put their perfect season on the line in the regional semifinal game against Elizabethtown at Green County High School.  After struggling in the first half, the Lady Knights found themselves in an unusual hole.  Marion County was faced with their first halftime deficit of the season when they headed to the locker room down 26-25 to Elizabethtown.  The defensive pressure stepped up in the second half and the Lady Knights offense got rolling as Marion County gradually pulled away.  The final score was 65-43 as Marion County advanced to the finals of the 5th region tournament.  On Tuesday night, Marion County will play LaRue County in the finals.  LaRue County edged Nelson County, 58-57, in the first semifinal game.  The championship game between Marion County and LaRue County will take place at 7:30 PM EST on Tuesday night.
