The National Guard Armory in Danville was a hive of activity for most of Tuesday as law enforcement officers went after 120 suspects under sealed indictment for drug trafficking in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer counties.

Police said what was one of the largest roundups in area history netted 83 of the suspects, including arrests in Marion, Pulaski, Madison and Rockcastle counties.

Steven Oberson Jr., 20, and Steve Orberson Sr., 41 both of Gravel Switch, were arrested during the round-up. Orberson Jr. is facing two counts of second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (hydrocodone). Oberson Sr. is facing three counts of second-degree trafficking in controlled substance (hydrocodone).

Acting on information gathered during a year-long investigation named operation “November Rain,” officers began serving warrants at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The crackdown included people suspected of trafficking cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs.

Officers from Kentucky State Police, Danville and Perryville police departments, the sheriff's departments in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer counties and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency were all involved.
