    God’s Hands of Hope
    A benefit concert for those affected by recent tornadoes and floods in midwest and southern states will be held from 6-10 p.m. Friday, May 27, at the Perryville Battlefield (Boyle County High School if inclement weather). The event is hosted by Perryville Christian Church in partnership with Stuart Powell Ford, Wilder Funeral Home and Inter-County Energy Cooperative. There will also be a silent auction of donated items; food from local vendors, beverages and baked goods from the Perryville Christian Church Youth Group.

    Contemplative Prayer Day
    St. Catharine Motherhouse will host the monthly Contemplative Prayer Day Saturday, May 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This day includes Centering Prayer, meditative walks, silence, a presentation, “Growing Deeper into Scripture through Lectio Divina,” facilitated by Sr. Jeanne Moore, OP and Sr. Mary Otho Ballard, OP, practice of Lectio Divina, sharing about the day and a Blessing.
    Bring bag lunch. Drinks are provided. Cost will be donations.

    The Trinity Gospel Aires will be at the House of Praise, located on W. Main St. across from Famous Recipe, on Saturday, May 14, starting at 7 p.m.

    First Baptist Church on N. Depot St. will have an usher board program Sunday, May 15 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Duke from Owens Chapel in Cave City.

    Faithful Citizenship luncheon
    “Charity and Citizenship:  What’s the Connection?” is the topic of the Faithful Citizenship luncheon to be held at noon May 17, 2011 in Flaget Hall at the Basilica of St Joseph Proto-Cathedral, 5th and W. Stephen Foster in Bardstown.
    The event is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Charities’ Parish Social Ministry Department and is free and open to the public. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a brown-bag lunch; drinks will be provided.
