    Thursday, Nov. 1: meatballs with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, tropical fruit, and wheat roll.
    Friday, Nov. 2: baked spaghetti, broccoli salad, garlic breadstick, and mandarin oranges.
    Monday, Nov. 5: beef chili with beans, pimento cheese, wheat bread, and mandarin oranges.
    Tuesday, Nov. 6: sloppy Joe on whole wheat bun, hashbrown casserole, baked beans, and baked apples and raisins.
    Wednesday, Nov. 7: franks, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, black-eyed peas, vanilla pudding, and cornbread.

  • Paint Frosty the Snowman on Nov. 17

    Come paint with the Marion County Arts and Humanities Council from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the United Presbyterian Church. The council will be painting a sparkly snowman on a 12 x 12 canvas, with a little help from friends. This class will be open to anyone 6 years old and older. Moms and dads or grandparents may want to share this experience with the younger crew. The painting event is limited to 20 people.

  • Enter your best chili in Chamber’s Chili Cook-off contest by Nov. 16

    Do you make great chili? Then we need you for the annual Marion County Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook-off at the Dickens Christmas Celebration in downtown Lebanon. The contest will be held on Friday, Nov. 23, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants will be placed along Main Street near participating businesses.     Monday, Oct. 29: spaghetti with meatballs, roasted Brussels sprouts, garlic breadstick, and fruit cocktail.
    Tuesday, Oct. 30: taco salad, chili – beef, lettuce, chopped onions, shredded cheese, corn chips, and mixed fruit.
    Wednesday, Oct. 31: ham, pinto beans, pickled beets, buttered spinach, pear crisp, and cornbread.
    All meals are served with skim milk.

    The families of Bridgette Nicole McClanahan and James Aaron Matthew Mattingly announce their upcoming wedding on Oct. 27, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at Lebanon Methodist Church.

  • Couple celebrates 70 years


    George Owens Jr. and Grace (Porter) Owens of Lebanon will celebrate 70 years of marriage on Oct. 28, 2018.
    They have seven children - Grace Owens, deceased, George Owens III, Lydia Ann (Owens) White, Joseph Louis Owens, Charles Sylvester Owens and William Thomas Owens, both deceased, and David Lee Owens.
    They have 13 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

    Class of 1983
    The Marion County High School Class of 1983 will have their 35th class reunion on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at the K.C. Hall in Lebanon. Light appetizers will be served. There will be a gathering at Chaser’s on Friday evening, Oct. 19.

    Class of 1968
