• Bland and Myers will marry Aug. 26


    Patsy JoAnn Bland and Dr. Gil Myers will be married on Aug. 26, 2017 at Magnolia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Magnolia.
    The bride is the daughter of the late Lawrence Alford and Hester (Prater) Alford. She has a degree in nursing and is presently an associate with Myers Parasitology Services.
    The groom is the son of the late Dr. Gilbert Myers Jr. and Professor Georgianna Kayla Myers. He is a doctoral graduate of the Department of Veterinary Science at the University of Wisconsin and is the owner/manager of Myers Parasitology Services.

  • Thomas attends Ky. Management Association regional meeting

    John Thomas met with nearly a dozen other Kentucky city managers and administrators for a regional Kentucky City/County Management Association (KCCMA) meeting on Aug. 4.
    Henderson Mayor Steve Austin welcomed attendees to the city and introduced Henderson City Manager Russell Sights as host of the meeting. The agenda for the meeting included a presentation giving an overview of Henderson highlighting several recent projects.

    The descendents of the late George Washington and Edna Robinson Abell will hold their annual potluck family reunion on Sunday, Aug. 27 at Floral Hall on Fairground Road in Lebanon. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Bring enough food, drinks, etc. for your family.

    The Marion County High School Class of 1997 will be having its 20-year reunion on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Rosewood Bar and Grill in Lebanon. Food and entertainment will be provided. More information will be provided prior to the event.
