Henning’s Restaurant and Marion County Arts and Humanities Council co-sponsored the Ham Days annual “Paint the Pig” contest. This year’s contest was won by Rose Ann Young for adult level and Kayton Shewmaker for children’s division.
The fifth show in this season’s “Homeplace on Green River’s Shakespeare in the Barn” series will be Nov. 3 when veteran actor Robert Brock brings Abe Lincoln’s law partner, Billy Herndon, who was born in Green County, back to life in his stage presentation of One Man’s Lincoln.
Class of 1983
The Marion County High School Class of 1983 will have their 35th class reunion on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at the K.C. Hall in Lebanon. Light appetizers will be served. There will be a gathering at Chaser’s on Friday evening, Oct. 19.
Class of 1968

The Tri-County Kentucky United Way held their annual Spirit 5K on Sept. 15. Approximately 200 people, including employees from American Greetings, Barton 1792 Distillery, Heaven Hill Distillery, Orbis Corporation, Salt River Electric and Tower International came out to support the United Way. The proceeds from the event help to offset administrative expenses, maximizing the dollars from individuals that are going to help those in need in Marion, Nelson and Washington Counties.
