  • Reed receives award for brain injury prevention efforts

    Representative Brandon Reed of Hodgenville has been awarded the 2018 Leadership Award by the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky for demonstrating courage to address the needs of persons affected by brain injury, as well as his work to promote brain injury prevention.
    Reed received the award on Wednesday, July 18, in Louisville, at the 32nd annual BIAK Meeting and Awards Program.

    The Lanham family reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Gravel Switch Community Center in Gravel Switch. There will be a potluck meal around 12:30 p.m. Chicken and eating utensils will be furnished.     Monday, Aug. 6: baked chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and banana pudding.
    Tuesday, Aug. 7: baked spaghetti, broccoli salad, mandarin oranges, and garlic breadstick.
    Wednesday, Aug. 8: layered salad with turkey and peas, crackers, chocolate pudding, and raisins.
    Thursday, Aug. 9: hamburger, relish plate, potato salad, pork and beans, banana, and wheat bun.
    Friday, Aug. 10: tomato chicken Parmesan, spaghetti noodles, cucumber salad, wheat roll, and peach cobbler.
    All means are served with skim milk.

    The Cocanougher reunion will be held on Sunday, July 29, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Perryville American Legion Hall, W. U.S. 150 near Hillcrest Cemetery, Perryville. A potluck meal will be served around 12:45 p.m. followed by a program, recognitions, stories, pictures available to view, and a game of “Who Has...?” If you wish to bring items for gifts for games, please do so.   • Hosparus Health offers free volunteer training in August

    Hosparus Health of Green River needs volunteers in Adair, Green, Hart, Marion, Metcalfe, Taylor and Washington counties, as well as volunteers to work in its Thrift Shoppe located at 1488 Old Lebanon Road, Suite B, Campbellsville, and will offer free trainings in August. Both trainings will be held at the Hosparus Health Campbellsville office, 295 Campbellsville Bypass (behind Coltons).
