• Sheriff Jimmy Clements elected to serve on board of directors

    The Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association held their 89th Annual Conference in Louisville, Dec. 2-7, 2018. This year’s conference was very well attended with approximately 400 attendees, including over 100 Sheriffs, 46 Sheriff Elects and Deputies and Office Staff participating in over 40 hours of training.
    According to Jerry Wagner, executive director of the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association, “Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Clements was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association in 2019.”

  • Belvin debuts new book

    In Southern Stories from the Porch Swing, author Janet Morris Belvin tells, in short essays, the story of her family and her life in the South.
    The book includes humorous stories with the author’s unique Southern take on life and her memories of growing up in South Carolina and Georgia in the 1950s and 60s. Recalling vacations at her grandparents’ farm near Gravel Switch, and her faith struggle after the passing of her 11-month-old grandson after surgery to repair a birth defect in his heart, Belvin shares her life generously with her readers.
