  • Nancy Irene Tate

    Nancy Irene Tate, 80, Lebanon, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Center.

    Born Sept. 19, 1927, in Marion County, Tate was a homemaker.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, Foster Ray Tate; parents, Robert Joseph and Ruth Hays Borders; one sister, Mary Louis Hill; and a half-brother, Garland Bandy.

    Survivors include: a sister, Rita Ann O'Daniel of Lebanon; and a brother, Bobby Joe Borders of Lebanon.

    Graveside services were held March 1 at St. Augustine Church Cemetery, Lebanon. Deacon Joe Dant officiated.

  • Harry Mack Tungate

    Harry Mack Tungate, 82, Lebanon, died Feb. 20, 2008.

    Tungate was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Marion County and was a United States Veteran.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hattie Jane Tungate.

    Funeral services were held Feb. 27 at Lebanon National Cemetery. Rev. Phil Martin officiated.

    Marion County Honor Guard conducted military rites and served as pallbearers.

    Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of the arrangements.

  • Mary Elizabeth Coulter Kirkland, 84

    Mary Elizabeth Coulter Kirkland, 84, Bradfordsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at her residence.

    Born Aug. 20, 1923, in Boyle County, Kirkland was a member of the Bradfordsville Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, John T. Kirkland; and parents, Edward Sheradon and Sarah Elizabeth Mills Coulter.

  • Ann Generose Nalley, 87

    Ann Generose Nalley, 87, Loretto, died at 2:25 p.m. Feb. 17, 2008, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.

    Born Nov. 14, 1920, in Louisville, Nalley was a former employee of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Nazareth.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, James David "J.D." Nalley; parents, James William and Sarah Jane Nalley; two sons, Dale and Frankie Nalley; a daughter, Kay Hagan; three sisters, Salley Bullock, Theresa Rickert and Lorean Thompson; and two brothers, Bill and J.T. Nalley.

  • Susan L. Wilcher, 93

    Susan L. "Julia" Wilcher, 93, Lebanon, died Feb. 20, 2008, at her residence.

    Born Feb.22, 1914, in Marion County, Wilcher was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Lebanon.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, Carl Wilcher; parents, George T. and Susan Mary Evans Raley; a daughter, Devota Riney; four brothers, Oliver, Authur, Edgar and Clarence Raley; four sisters, Myrtle Luckett, Orena Robey, Susie Battcher and Mayme Payne; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Grace-Ann Wilcher.

  • Steven Ray McNees, 42

    Steven Ray McNees, 42, died Feb. 17, 2008, in Lebanon after an illness.

    Survivors include: his mother, Mary Frances Stayton Crenshaw of Lebanon; father and stepmother, Paul and Elizabeth McNees of Frankfort; two stepbrothers, William and Robert Warman, both of Frankfort; and a stepsister, Lisa Friedly of Frankfort.

    Funeral services were held Feb. 20 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville. Elder Jen Fugal officiated.

  • Dorothy Lucille Washington, 67

    Dorothy Lucille Washington, 67, Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home, died Feb. 23, 2008, after an illness.

    Washington was a Baptist.

    She was preceded in death by: her parents, Amos and Mary Lou Thornton Washington; and a sister, Betty Washington.

    Survivors include: two sisters, Laverne Furmon of Lebanon and Darnell Calhoun of California.

    Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Campbell-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville. The Rev. Tommy Calhoun officiated.

  • Francis Gerald Ewing, 81

    Francis Gerald Ewing, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

    Born Nov. 24, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, Ewing was retired from General Electric Appliance Park and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

    He was preceded in death by: his parents, James Clarence and Lucille Bradshaw Ewing; two brothers, Clarence, Jr., and John Irvine Ewing; and a sister, Lucy Ann Ewing.

  • Joseph Raymond Boone, 64

    Joseph "Raymond" Boone, 64, Fairfield, Ohio, died Feb. 18, 2008, at his residence.

    Born Sept. 30, 1943, in New Haven, Boone worked for Champion Papers and the Litton Industries in Ohio.

    He was preceded in death by: his parents, Felix and Nellie Clark Boone; two brothers, J.B. and Eugene Boone; and one sister, Jessie Cissell.

    Ernest "Lil' Boo" Calhoun, 40, Lebanon, died Feb. 18, 2008, in Bardstown after an illness.

    Born Oct. 17, 1967, in Lebanon, Calhoun was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.

    Survivors include: his mother, Darnell Calhoun of California; father, James Lee "Scott" Calhoun of Lebanon; two daughters, Amber Calhoun of Lexington and Honesty Calhoun of Lebanon; four brothers, Ronnie Lynn Calhoun of California, James Allen Calhoun of Lexington and Mandell and Devin Calhoun, both of Campbellsville; and his grandmother, Winnie Robinson of Lebanon.
