  • Correction

    On the public record page in the June 20 edition, a mistake appeared in a small claim disposition (case 18-S-00021) Gary Hawkins vs. Ryan Elder. It should have stated judgment in favor of defendant for $2,130 plus interest, court costs and attorney fees.

    In news briefs from the June 21 fiscal court meeting, it stated that Magistrate Jackie Wicker was donating $500 to Gravel Switch Seniors. It should have stated Bradfordsville Seniors.

  • Lebanon man indicted for multiple drug charges

    William V. Spalding, 44, of 95 Cowherd Lane in Lebanon was indicted in Marion Circuit Court last week for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree cruelty to animals, possession of marijuana and first-degree persistent felony offender. 

  • Loretto man indicted for assault, wanton endangerment

    Wesley A. Spalding, 31, of 9237 North Loretto Road in Loretto was indicted for multiple charges in Marion Circuit Court on Feb. 26.

  • Fiscal court briefs

    • Community Action Executive Director Lynn Robey reviewed the council’s annual report with the court. According to Robey, all programs are doing well except for the congregate meal program, which has lost funding. The congregate meal program provides 5,793 meals, annually. Robey also reported that the reforms to the retirement system will cost Community Action an additional $480,000, annually. Robey informed the court that she will be retiring in June. Magistrates voted to give Community Action the court’s annual allocation of $15,000.

    Oct. 2
    The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the reported break-in of multiple storage buildings on Fairground Road next to the Marion County Fairgrounds. This incident is believed to have occurred on or about Oct. 2 or Oct. 3.

    Oct. 3
    The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a theft report of a JIAJ 49 cc scooter from a residence in Bradfordsville. The victim reported that the theft occurred sometime after 10 p.m. Oct. 2.

    Cynthia J. Shewmaker of Kirk Street in Lebanon reported the theft of an Apple iPhone 8 Plus valued at $799, $50 in cash, and a purse valued at $445.

    Sept. 9
    - Ashley M. Brady of Doug Thompson Road in Lebanon reported the theft of a $50 mini-fridge, $2,500 paintball gun, $200 speaker with amplifier $100 baby crib, $50 dresser, $50 worth of clothing and toys and antique collectibles (unknown value).
    - Teresa L. Kiskaden of Indigo Drive in Richmond reported the theft of jewelry and medication, totaling $2,127.
